RECENT GRADUATES of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee are showing off their talents in Kirriemuir.

Nichola Martin and Joanne Garner have teamed up to stage an exhibition at Bank Street Gallery featuring a range of work.

Nichola, who grew up in Carnoustie and is now based in Fife, works in graphite and charcoal and came to the gallery’s attention after the college degree show last year.

She is being supported by Joanne, from Dumfries and Galloway, who is a jeweller working with silver and silk.

Susie Clark, of the gallery, fell in love with Nichola’s work at the degree show and was delighted to secure Joanne’s support.

“I knew from the outset that I wanted a silversmith to complement the black and white themes of Nichola’s work and Joanne’s pieces just capture the tone exactly,” she said.

“They make a dynamic double act.”
