FIFE POLICE are searching for an armed robber who threatened staff at a bookmakers with what appeared to be a gun yesterday.
The thief made off with a large four-figure sum of money following the incident at Ladbrokes near Glenrothes bus station at around 6pm.
The thief is described as being of average build with dark hair and wearing white trainers and dark clothing.
He was seen running off through the bus station towards the Golden Acorn pub.
Detective Inspector Andy Girdwood said, “We are treating this crime very seriously and any information could be vital in helping us solve it.
“We urge anyone who was in the vicinity around 6pm, or saw someone fitting this description hanging about in the area of the bookmakers around 4pm, to contact us as soon as possible.”
