Fife crash casualties improving

THE CONDITIONS of a Fife toddler and a young woman who were seriously hurt in a road accident on Sunday have improved.

They were rushed to hospital after a three-car crash on the A985 Rosyth to Kincardine road, near the Pattiesmuir junction.

Following the accident the 21-month-old girl was left fighting for life in the Sick Children’s Hospital in Edinburgh, but her condition has since been described as “stable.”

The youngster’s 24-year-old mother, who was driving, was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

However, a 22-year-old woman who was travelling in the front passenger seat sustained serious injuries and yesterday was in a critical but stable condition in Queen Margaret Hospital.

The three casualties are from Saline in west Fife.

Police arrested a 36-year-old woman in connection with the incident.

She was charged and a report was sent to the procurator fiscal. She was later released from custody.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing and Fife Const- abulary are keen to speak to witnesses on 01592 251111.
