Concern mounts for crash victim

THE CONDITION of a 22-year-old woman seriously injured in a road accident outside Dunfermline on Sunday deteriorated yesterday.

Police said the woman’s condition was “very critical.”

She is being treated at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline and it is understood she was due to undergo more emergency surgery.

The woman, from Saline, was injured in a three-car collision on the A985 Rosyth to Kincardine road, at the Pattiesmuir junction.

Her 24-year-old female friend, who was driving the vehicle, had her 21-month-old baby girl restrained in the back of the vehicle.

The youngster is being treated at the Sick Children’s Hospital in Edinburgh and is in a stable condition. The mother’s injuries, although serious, are not life threatening.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident. She was charged and later released.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

Police are keen to speak to any Rosyth-bound drivers who may have seen the movements of a blue Range Rover around 3.40pm, the time of the crash.

They can be contacted on 01592 251111.
