Golf booking service

AN INITIATIVE set to change how golf is booked was celebrated this week.

TeeDeal is the country’s first real-time online booking service and offers the potential for golfers world-wide to review more than 500 Scottish courses at www.teedeal.co.uk

By offering tee times at special rates, TeeDeal is expected to drive new online business for clubs, helping to maximise take-up of unbooked tee-times for clubs and ensuring the golfer enjoys best value golf.

By this time next year, a comprehensive directory of Scottish courses plus the best available green fees is expected to attract golfers from home and abroad.

TeeDeal’s main focus has been on the Tayside area and the company signed up its first clubs in February. Since then, more than 30 courses have confirmed and, as word of TeeDeal travels, clubs beyond Tayside are coming on board.

This week TeeDeal held a golf day for representatives from a selection of clubs at Crieff Golf Club culminating in a dinner and awards ceremony, with prizes presented by Perth and Kinross Provost John Hulbert.

Also present were Lisbon Lions and ex-Celtic players Bobby Lennox and Steve Chalmers and various representatives from the tourism and finance sectors.

Managing director Olav Skretteberg said, “With online technology continually making life choices faster and more convenient, driving club bookings through the web is becoming increasingly important.”
