£2300 for Dorward House

MARK JAMIESON shed a few pounds to raise £2300 for Dorward House, Montrose, by running the London Marathon.

Among his sponsors was Montrose Rotary Club whose president Robert Ritchie handed over £270, £10 for every mile completed.

Mark’s sponsorship will be added to the remarkable tally of £100,000 raised from individuals and organisations in the town and district for the Dorward House Building Fund.

His grandmother was for many years a resident at Dorward House, which recently underwent a £2.3 million refurbishment and extension to provide each room with en-suite facilities and in addition create a unit for the care of people with dementia, and respite care places.

As a voluntary organisation, administered by a board of trustees, the house receives no financial support from any statutory body and is responsible for all funding.
