Science in a lorry

FORFAR ACADEMY was the latest port of call yesterday for the Lab in a Lorry touring Angus.

The programme involves three 44ft trucks touring schools, youth organisations and major events across the country to give pupils aged between 11 and 14 the opportunity to explore science through a series of interactive experiments.

Volunteer scientists and engineers from GlaxoSmithKline in Montrose are manning the labs on their Angus tour. Lab in a Lorry is a partnership between the Institute of Physics, the Offshore Training Foundation and the Scottish Government, with the Schlumberger Foundation a founding partner of the scheme.
