Concern mounts for Angus man

POLICE ARE increasingly concerned for the safety of missing Montrose man Peter Good, who was last seen at his home in Ferryden, last Thursday morning.

Mr Good (49), who lives with his parents in Craig Terrace, was last seen by his father shortly before 10am on that day as his father was leaving to go out. When he returned, Mr Good was gone and he has not been seen since.

He is described as being a very private person, who keeps himself to himself.

He is 5ft 10in, of medium build and has brown eyes and grey hair.

When last seen he was wearing a navy blue anorak, light blue denim jeans and trainers.

During the weekend, police officers carried out door-to-door inquiries in the Montrose area, as well as checking gardens, sheds, garages and outbuildings. Police are also reviewing public and private CCTV footage.

The coastguard and an RAF helicopter have also carried out searches of the local coastline and basin area and British Transport Police have undertaken a search of the railway line in the area.

As time passes, police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for Mr Good’s welfare and appeal to anyone who may have seen him to contact them immediately on 0845 600 5705, or speak to any officer.

Montrose inspector Iain Wales said, “We know that Peter enjoys walking, notably along the coast between Scurdy Ness and Boddin. He has also fished at rocks off Usan in the past.

“We are involved in an extensive co-ordinated search for Peter and I would appeal for the public’s assistance in our efforts to trace him.

“Local residents can assist by checking their gardens, garages, sheds and outbuildings for signs of any activity or anything untoward.

“If anyone has information they should contact us immediately.’’
