Body found at Lunan Bay

POLICE YESTERDAY recovered the body of a man from the foreshore at Lunan Bay, between Arbroath and Montrose, after a member of the public made the grim discovery while walking on the beach at around 9.30am.

A spokesman said that the body appeared to have been in the water for some time and efforts were continuing to establish the identity of the deceased.

He said these efforts would include making contact with other police forces to determine whether the discovery could be linked to any of their missing persons inquiries.

The discovery of the body at Lunan Bay comes just over a week after Montrose man Peter Good (49) went missing from his home in Ferryden.

In their appeals for information regarding Mr Good’s disappearance, the police said he was known to enjoy walking along the coastline between the Scurdie Ness lighthouse and Boddin.
