A 34-YEAR-OLD mother and her two young children were lucky to escape serious injury after their car left the road and overturned in an Angus field yesterday.
The family’s Vauxhall Zafira was left upside down in a muddy ditch after tumbling off the Dundee to Coupar Angus road at the Tullybaccart bends in wet weather.
The emergency services rushed to the scene, close to Ledcrieff farm track, at 3.30pm where they helped the woman and her two girls—aged two and seven—from the vehicle.
The trio were taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital where they were given a thorough check over by doctors.
Fortunately, the girls and their mother suffered only shock, and were discharged from hospital soon after.
A recovery vehicle was dispatched to the scene of the accident and the damaged car was removed from the field.
There was no significant traffic disruption as a result of the incident.
