A MASS of floral tributes have been laid in memory of brother and sister Ryan and Michelle Thomson, who were found dead at their family home in Buckhaven on Saturday evening.
Among the messages left by friends of the Thomson family and members of the close-knit community were, ‘Sleep in peace forever,’and ‘God bless your innocent souls.’
A family friend laying a wreath at the scene said she had been “horrified” to learn of the tragedy.
“It just doesn’t bear thinking about,” she said.
“Michelle was a lovely girl, always smiling.
“She suffered from severe learning difficulties and epilepsy and required around-the-clock care.
“Wee Ryan was a nice boy, too. He was a little character, full of fun.
“They will be sadly missed by all who knew them.”
The friend added that the siblings’ parents—Robert, a lorry driver, and housewife June, who had been married for around 28 years—recently separated, and the children had been staying with Mr Thomson on a temporary basis while their mother looked for alternative accommodation.
She said the family home had been on the market for some time. “They weren’t having much luck selling it, though,” she said.
“Most folk around here called it ‘the unlucky house’ as so many bad accidents have happened on the road outside it over the years,” she added.
Methilhaven Road and the adjacent Percival Road have witnessed several accidents in the last few years, including a two-car collision in which two men died at a T-junction just yards from the Thomson family home in 2004.
