Music legend Laine performs in Dundee

DUNDEE MUSIC lovers were treated to a performance from a musical legend last night during a gig in the city centre.

Denny Laine—the former member of Wings and The Moody Blues—played to a packed audience at popular music venue, McDaniel’s, on Whitehall Crescent.

The Denny Laine band entertained the enthusiastic audience with a selection of the songs he has written over the years.

The singer/songwriter, who co-wrote Wings’ hit Mull of Kintyre, said he was thrilled to be performing in the City of Discovery.

Speaking before the gig, he said, “I really like Scotland. The last time I was in Dundee was the 80s and it has really changed.

“We have been playing in a lot of normal pubs on the tour but this place is a proper musicians’ venue—it’s great to be here and there has been a healthy response to what we are doing.”
