Teacher pays tribute to boy

A FIFE youngster killed in his Buckhaven home at the weekend has been described as “a lovely little boy.”

Ryan Thomson (7) died along with his 25-year old sister Michelle, who suffered severe learning difficulties, at their home at Methilhaven Road on Saturday evening.

Ryan was a pupil at Buckhaven Primary School and yesterday head teacher Yvonne Menzies spoke of the shock and grief felt.

“I know I speak for everyone in the school as I offer our deepest, heartfelt sympathy to Ryan’s family.

“We are very shocked and saddened and I know that Buckhaven’s tight-knit community will be taking this news very severely,” said Ms Menzies.

She continued, “Ryan was a lovely little boy who was open and friendly, who loved to chat and hear his stories.

“He was very popular in school and had a wide circle of friends.”

Pupils at the school will return to their classes after the May break for the first time since the tragedy today.

Ms Menzies said appropriate support and education service psychologists will be made available.
