Accies move for Pars keeper

Sean Murdoch.

DUNFERMLINE HAVE been given an undisclosed fee for goalkeeper Sean Murdoch, who has left the Fife club for Hamilton.

The 21-year-old went on loan to the Accies in February last year and joins them for their first campaign among the top flight since the late 1980s.

Despite showing promise in his young career Murdoch found himself down the pecking order at East End Park.

Having been loaned out to Forfar on the arrival of on-loan Rangers keeper Allan McGregor and Bryn Halliwell in 2005-06, Murdoch is now benefiting from Halliwell’s exit from New Douglas Park.

Accies boss Billy Reid said, “Sean is someone I know and have worked with at Accies before.

“I’m delighted to sign him on a two-year deal.

“Bryn played a big part in our championship success this season.

“He has been great for us with a succession of clean sheets, and he goes with our very best wishes.”
