Fair day for the fairway

Disabled golfers from across Scotland took to the fairways of Fife for a match hosted by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club and Elie Golf Club. A stableford event was played with teams made up of a disabled player and their coach or two disabled players and a member of the R&A. Jim Gales, organiser of the Scottish Disability Golf Partnership, which creates golfing opportunities for disabled groups, said the match was a great opportunity to demonstrate that having a disability should not prevent anyone continuing or taking up a sport. Our picture shows some of the competitors who took part.
