Improvements to cycle track welcomed

ACCESS TO Fife’s coastal areas has become even better with the opening of the upgraded cycle route from St David’s Bay to Inverkeithing.

The £155,000 project consisted of widening, surfacing and lighting an existing track to make it more attractive to users.

The route is now more open.

Councillor Tony Martin, chairman of Fife Council’s environment and transportation committee, welcomed the improvement.

As well as encouraging as many people as possible to explore the region’s coast he said the path improved access to Inverkeithing rail interchange.

“This improvement underlines our ongoing commitment to promote more sustainable means of travel and active lifestyles to help encourage health and fitness,” he added.
