THE A90 was closed southbound for around an hour on Sunday morning after two vehicles—one pulling a horsebox—were in collision.
The accident occurred at 8.05am, roughly two miles north of Stonehaven and just south of the turn-off for the town.
No one was injured in the crash but the road—which was initially reduced to one-lane in both directions—was eventually closed southbound until around 9.20am to allow vets to sedate a horse which had been inside the horsebox at the time of the crash.
The horse was not thought to have been seriously injured but had been left distressed.
“As far as we are aware the horse is still alive,” said a police spokesperson.
“Nobody was hurt in the incident but it caused problems for traffic as the horsebox was damaged and the horse distressed.”
