Dundee fans will welcome signing

DUNDEE WILL unveil one new signing tomorrow, with the promise of more to follow from chief executive Dave MacKinnon.

The Dark Blues have already snapped up Hamilton winger Mark Gilhaney and re-signed striker Mikael Antoine-Curier.

Pre-contract agreement duo Craig McKeown and Eric Paton were already on their way, and the club have also been linked with others, most notably former goalkeeper Rab Douglas, Livingston striker Robert Snodgrass and former Kilmarnock man Gary Holt, who is unsettled at Wycombe Wanderers.

MacKinnon declined to reveal the identity of tomorrow’s arrival but believes he will be warmly welcomed by the fans.

“We are trying to take the club to the next level and I think this signing will help us to do that,” said MacKinnon.

“He is a well-known figure in Scottish football and has had other clubs— including from the SPL— interested in him.

“It is a sign we are making progress, I believe, and represents good business for Dundee.

“We have also agreed terms with a second player but he still has some loose ends to tie up at his club so that should go ahead later in the week.

“In addition, we have been looking at another three players, although it is too early to say how we will get on there.”

With manager Alex Rae presently out of the country, MacKinnon has also been finalising plans for a summer training camp.

“We hope to take the players abroad for 10 days—from late June to early July—and could even play some bounce games,” he added.

“As soon as Alex gets back we will be heading out to make sure everything is OK.”

The main office is closed today but the club shop and ticket office remain open from 10am—5pm for the sale of season tickets.
