WELL OVER 10,000 fans are expected to descend on Perth Racecourse for the prestigious Gold Cup this Sunday.
Fun for all the family is promised during the event, which is widely regarded as one of the season’s main highlights.
A true equine superstar, born and bred in Perthshire, will lead the showcase “Parade of Runners” on Sunday.
Moulin, who will also perform a show prior to the racing, crowned a glorious season last year by winning the much-coveted best of breed in December at the 100th anniversary of Olympia, the London international horse show.
Despite his ability to dazzle the top judges on the UK equestrian show scene, Moulin is described as a “down to earth character” who regularly enjoys rounding up Blackface sheep for Mary MacPherson at Connachan near Crieff.
Perth Racecourse general manager Sam Morshead is looking forward to this Sunday’s meeting, and believes the presence of Moulin will prove to be a major attraction.
“I am delighted that we will have the opportunity to see a horse which has lifted such sought after silverware and is truly our local breed champion,” he remarked.
“It will be a great spectacle and we are all looking forward to another special City of Perth Gold Cup Day,” Sam added.
A creche will also be provided for younger racegoers.
