ARBROATH BOSS John McGlashan last night warned the trio of Lichties players who have yet to re-sign for the club that “make your mind up time” is fast approaching.
With skipper Barry Sellars having agreed a new one-year deal, only Paul Tosh, Alan Brazil and Scott Morrison remain out of contract.
But McGlashan is anxious to get his squad for next season in place and said that if the futures of Tosh, Brazil and Morrison aren’t sorted out by the end of the week he will have to turn his attention elsewhere.
“Alan is on holiday at the moment, Scott is just back from holiday and we’re still negotiating with Paul,” he revealed.
“Hopefully we’ll get things sorted out with the three of them but there’s only so long we can allow the situation to roll on.
“We need closure, by the weekend really.
“I’d like them to stay but if deals cannot be agreed then we’ll accept that and both parties will move on.
“There are people who are out of contract at other clubs that I could go for and I wouldn’t like to miss out on them because we’ve held on and on with these lads only to eventually find we cannot agree terms.”
Despite the re-signing issues, McGlashan feels he is well on the way to gathering together a pool of players to compete in the Second Division.
“It was important to get Barry on board and with the new signings we’ve already made we are just about there squad wise,” he said,
“If we can sort things out with Paul, Alan and Scott then we’re only one or two players away from having the group I want, so we’re in fine fettle really.”
