POLICE HAVE confirmed that the remains of a man have been recovered from the shoreline at the Kyle of Tongue in Sutherland.

The discovery was made by members of the public around 8.45pm on Friday.

The remains are believed to be that of missing German student Kai Thieroff (21), who had been studying in the north of England.

His black Fiat Punto car had been reported abandoned on the Kyle of Tongue causeway on May 7.
