THE FRIENDS of the Byre Theatre in St Andrews have secured a coup for their latest fund-raising event—a visit to the town by a former BBC MasterChef winner, food stylist Marjorie Lang.

The Friends have issued an open invitation to the public for her masterclass programme in the multi-million pound drama centre on Wednesday, during which she will demonstrate the flowers and food for the perfect dinner party.

Friends spokeswoman Sylvia Donaldson said yesterday, “Marjorie will provide a display of cold food for her interpretation of dishes for the perfect dinner party and talk about how she selected and cooked the food.

“She will also chat about her experiences during the various rounds and final of the MasterChef competition and the many opportunities culminating from it.”

The audience will have the opportunity to ask Marjorie questions and for food ideas and advice on how to avoid cooking disasters.

The event will include a floral art demonstration of a small arrangement to enhance the dinner table.

Wednesday’s programme will take place in the Byre’s Lawrence Levy Studio Theatre and starts at 2.30pm.

Tickets, which include a glass of wine and canapes provided by Marjorie, are now available from the Byre Theatre box office.
