THE OWNERS of a Perthshire deer park are appealing to readers of The Courier to help them name their latest arrival.
The un-named female red deer calf arrived on Thursday night to mum, Rosie, at Highland Safaris Deer Park.
Owner Donald Riddell said, “We are unsure what to call her and invite anyone to pop down to the Safari Lodge near Dull to see her and think up a name. There will be a prize for the one we like most.”
He also urged the public not to touch any lone deer calves they come across.
“Red deer calves are now being born out on the hill and will retain their spots for a month.
“If you find one that looks abandoned please do not touch it as its mum will know exactly where it is and will come back to feed it from time to time.”
The Courier recently helped name another deer.
Last week, an abandoned Fife fawn was taken in by the Scottish Deer Centre near Cupar and called Taylor, the middle name of our photographer who took pictures of it for the paper.
