AN ELDERLY man died in a house fire in Glenrothes last night.

Emergency services were called to an address in Inchkeith Court at around 7.30pm but discovered the sole occupant dead upon their arrival.

Two fire crews from Glenrothes and one from Methil brought the fire under control without neighbouring properties having to be evacuated.

The dead man has not been named and his identity will not be revealed until next of kin have been informed.

Police last night also confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances. An investigation into the cause of the blaze will be carried out.
