Tracing the source of the Forth

TWO Perthshire film- makers have completed a documentary entitled The River Forth.

Brothers Colin and Raymond Statter took on the challenge of tracing the river’s journey from the firth to its source.

The three-episode film, which is a follow-up to their first documentary, Heron On The Water, was described yesterdayas “a Jimmie Macgregor-style journey through the area’s scenery.”

Colin (43), who lives in Dunblane and who wrote and presents the film, said, “Raymond and I were bitten by the film-making bug two years ago.

He continued, “The film is a much bigger project than last time—it’s used up more time and resources, and I have continued on a steep learning curve on presenting and other technical expertise in making it.

“We’ve had a lot of fun making it—bringing in an amateur actor for scenes at Cambuskenneth Abbey and researching the background to places.

“Finding the source of the Forth is the subject of a bit of debate, so we were keen to get it right.”

Raymond (40) did all the camera and editing work.

He said, “We’re very proud of the film and look forward to hearing of the public’s reaction.”
