HUNDREDS OF veterans of The Black Watch gathered in Perth at the weekend to meet former colleagues.
The annual gathering in the grounds of Balhousie Castle on Saturday drew men from all over the UK who had served with the regiment.
Oldest among the ranks was 100-year-old Harry Douglas, from Hawick.
A short march from the North Inch preceded the gathering where around 300 soldiers and their families enjoyed the reunion in the castle grounds.
Accompanying the men were the Angus and Dundee Army Cadet Force pipe band who were joined by members of the newly formed Black Watch Association of Scotland band.
A new addition to the regimental museum was received yesterday when the Far East Prisoners Association handed over their standard which will go on display in the castle.
