VISITORS TO Sensation in Dundee are being asked to Go Ape as part of the science centre’s summer exhibition.

The Great Apes exhibition, which opens today, has been designed to take visitors to the heart of ape life and to show the strong links between the animals and humans.

The exhibition consists of four interactive zones, allowing visitors to sculpt tools out of sticks, build treetop nests, and even see what they would look like as an orangutan or gorilla with a special face-morphing machine.

The future of the ape is also investigated, with visitors being able to study the fragile existence of our closest ancestors as hunting and logging continue to threaten their habitat.

Staff at Sensation hope the exhibition can repeat the success of last year’s Vanishing Ice exhibit, which highlighted the effects of global-warming on the polar regions.

The Great Apes exhibition is scheduled to run until the end of October.
