The way the Watch were

SOLDIERS SERVING in The Black Watch got an opportunity yesterday to see how warfare was waged almost 200 years ago.

Soldiers from Fort George were among the audience for a display by the 1st Battalion 42nd Highland Regiment of Foot 1815 (The Black Watch) when they staged a re-enactment in the grounds of Balhousie Castle in Perth, the regimental museum of The Black Watch.

The group, which draws its members from across the UK, aims to recreate The Black Watch as the regiment would have been at the time of the Battle of Waterloo.

They are one of the attractions at the Scottish Game Fair which takes place in the grounds of Scone Palace today, tomorrow and Sunday where they will be giving demonstrations of musketry and drill.
