MUSIC FANS who had given up on going to T in the Park have been given renewed hope of picking up some normally gold dust tickets.
Rain is forecast for tomorrow and Saturday and that appears to have been putting some people off, but the credit crunch is thought to be another reason many are trying to sell their tickets.
People have been visiting Groucho’s Record Exchange in Dundee to sell their tickets, while the shop has also received phone calls from people wanting to sell their briefs at face value.
Many workplaces have also seen posters going up from fans trying to sell off their tickets, while texts and Emails sent to friends with tickets on offer has also been commonplace.
Ticket agencies have put up press releases informing fans they still have tickets available.
A Groucho’s spokeswoman said they had quite a few calls from people trying to sell them.
She said they had sold a few of those through the shop, which had been snapped up quickly.
“It’s usually people looking for tickets rather than trying to sell them. I think the weather may be putting some people off.”
T in the Park was recently tagged the most expensive UK festival, costing £160 for the weekend plus travel costs, but organisers said that is value for money given the quality of the acts.
Geoff Ellis of festival organisers DF Concerts said more than 180 artists play over 11 stages across three days—which is more artists than most other UK events and provides an overall ticket price to artist ratio of £1.13 per act.
Yesterday there were 650 auctions for tickets on auction website eBay.
