Religious group to gather at stadium

MORE THAN 8000 Jehovah’s Witnesses from all over Scotland will descend on Perth next week for their annual convention at McDiarmid Park.

The football ground has proved a popular venue with the Christian group which this year is meeting from Friday through to Sunday.

On Wednesday an advance party will be cleaning the stadium ahead of the big event.

The massive influx of people to Perth for the convention provides a significant boost to the local economy.

The theme of this year’s convention is the need humans have for reliable guidance and all convention sessions are open to the public and are free.

From June through to August the Jehovah’s Witnesses are holding 29 conventions throughout Britain, attended by 155,000.
