THE FAMILY of Falkland youngster Laura Moore —who lost her battle with cancer a fortnight ago— have handed over a donation in her honour to help other sick children.
Before the brave eight-year-old died she led a sponsored walk for CHAS around Falkland Estate.
Her stepdad and mum Grant and Lynne Kidd and sister Cara handed over a cheque for the £3000 raised to Rachel House nurse Amanda Stark to help the hospice which cares for seriously ill children.
Around 100 people took part in the walk in May, in which Laura, dressed as a fairy princess, rode on a pony dressed as a unicorn.
It was organised by Jack Henderson of Falkland’s Lomond Tavern and it is now intended to make the walk an annual event in Laura’s memory.
The sum raised by walkers was further boosted by a raffle and a music night in the pub.
Laura, who was described as a “burning light,” was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of four and later was also struck by leukaemia.
