CELEBRITY ANGLER Paul Young was at Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort, near Dundee, yesterday afternoon to launch the inaugural Kingennie Fishing Week.

During his visit he gave hands-on instructions to junior anglers as well as advising seniors on how to improve their skills.

The event, which runs until Friday, aims to celebrate the sport while introducing it to a new audience.

It also includes daily prize competitions, a free nightly barbecue and discounted drinks.

“Fishing is at the heart of the Kingennie Country Resort and we wanted to thank the many fishermen who use the facilities here by providing this week of fun activities especially for them, in addition to giving people new to the sport the chance to try it in a relaxed way,” said proprietor and former national fly-fishing champion Mike Forbes.
