DISPOSING OF rubbish without damaging the planet has become easier for the residents of Glenfarg with the introduction of a new recycling point.

The new centre, located at Greenbank Crescent, near Arngask Primary School, provides recycling for glass bottles and jars, steel and aluminium food and drink cans, aerosols, aluminium foil and paper.

Environment convener Councillor Alan Grant, said, “The majority of residents local to Glenfarg already receive paper and garden waste collections from the kerbside, and these new facilities will make it even easier for residents to recycle more of their household waste.

“Perth and Kinross already has a high recycling rate, the most recent figure is 36% and this new recycling point provides local residents the opportunity to recycle more of their waste and contribute to increasing the Perth and Kinross recycling rate even further.”

A community information board will also be on site to provide information on amounts of waste materials collected, advice on how to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” waste, and details of other recycling initiatives.
