DUNDEE UNITED last night rejected a bid—believed to be in the region of £500,000—for striker Noel Hunt.
Reading, who were relegated to the English Championship from the Premiership at the end of last season, are the club that want to sign the Irishman.
The Royals already have Hunt’s brother Stephen on their books and are not short of cash after selling Dave Kitson to Stoke City for £5.5 million.
The 25-year-old Tannadice hitman, who was the club’s top scorer last term, has just a year left on his contract so would be able to leave for nothing at the end of next season.
Meanwhile, United will give 21-year-old Spanish t rialist striker Pablo Garcia Carrascosa a run-out against Arbroath tomorrow night.
“I will have another look at him,” said Levein.
“He is just a young lad but he might be one who is valuable down the line.”
Garry Kenneth, who hurt his ankle against UCD in Dublin, is struggling to be fit for either the Gayfield game or tonight’s friendly at Dunfermline.
Lee Wilkie and Andis Shala have also been receiving treatment for strains.
