PERTH YOUTH choir the Fair City Singers has just returned from an acclaimed 10-day tour of Italy.

Selected as the sole British representative at the Incorporated Society of Music Educators’ World Conference in Bologna, it was directed by Marion Neilson and accompanied on piano by Martin Neilson, who said the youngsters had been great ambassadors for their choir, town and country.

The young Perth singers, resplendent in new concert outfits, received a standing ovation when they performed in the Teatro Manzoni in Bologna alongside an adult wind band from Edmonton, Canada.
