A PREGNANT WOMAN’S craving for Kentucky Fried Chicken led to her partner driving head-on into another car, Dundee Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
Nicholas Alexander Porter (21), of Baltic Street, Montrose, admitted driving carelessly on February 21 at the junction of Happyhillock Road and Drumgeith Road by leaving the roundabout junction and entering the opposite lane and colliding with another car.
Solicitor Theo Finlay said that Porter and his pregnant partner had been driving in Arbroath when she took a sudden craving for a KFC meal.
There was no KFC outlet in Arbroath, but she knew there was one in Dundee and roughly where it was.
Porter was looking for it when he came across the junction, thought Happyhillock Road was a dual carriageway and struck the other vehicle head-on.
Sheriff Millar fined Porter £240 and banned him from driving for six months, which under the New Drivers Regulations means he will have to re-sit the driving test.
