Call for ideas to create display

PEOPLE WITH a keen interest in a particular part of Forfar’s heritage are being urged to call into The Meffan in the town.

Staff are giving locals the chance to create their own museum display using the vast store of historical material collected over the years.

They are keen to hear suggestions for an object or something from its archive of photographs, memorabilia, social history objects, archaeology, and natural history collection that should be on show.

“Maybe it’s an object that brings back memories or maybe people would like to see an object that has been displayed before and they particularly enjoyed,” said a spokeswoman.

Among the strange, unusual and favourite items lurking in the store is a pike’s head, taken from Forfar Loch.
