A Dundee man has been left “extremely shaken” after being robbed at knifepoint and subjected to a terrifying ordeal in his own home by a gang of men at the weekend.
The 34-year-old victim’s ordeal began when a group of men accosted him in the back green of his house on Broughty Ferry Road late on Sunday night, before brandishing a knife at him.
The man was forced to his flat, and was made to hand over a three-figure sum before the assailants left.
Police say two of the assailants were described as being about 30 years old, and of average height and build.
One was wearing a light-green baseball cap, the other a white baseball cap, possibly with NYC on it. Both wore jeans.
A spokesman said last night, “This was a particularly serious incident, involving a man being held at knifepoint, and extensive inquiries are being carried out by CID officers.
“The man was understandably extremely shaken in what would have been a very frightening incident for him and we would urge any member of the public who was in the area at the time or who recognise the descriptions of the men responsible to get in touch with us.”
As part of the inquiry police are also searching for any taxi driver.
He picked up a man—described as being in his 30s and wearing dark clothing— from the area of Ross’s Bar, Arbroath Road, the same evening.
