Anstruther date for top tribute band

A SECOND high profile tribute band in four months is heading to the East Neuk of Fife.

Hot on the heels of the Complete Stone Roses gig at Waid Academy in July, the Stereotonics are to play at the Anstruther school on Saturday, October 4.

The charity gig will raise money for the East Neuk Wheelchair Appeal, which benefited by £1500 from the previous concert, and organiser Alex Bowman is hoping for a similar success with the Stereotonics.

The Stereophonics tribute band have been described as one of the best tribute bands in the UK and have been given the seal of approval by the real thing.

Alex is aiming to bring in bigger and better bands and is hoping to fix a date for The Editors, whose lead singer Tom Smith is the partner of Alex’s sister, Radio One DJ Edith.

He also revealed that he intends to do something special for the 20th anniversary of the wheelchair appeal, which is led by his mother Eleanor, next year.

Tickets for the Stereotonics gig are available from Alex’s pub, the Station Buffet Bar in Elie, by phoning (01333) 330972.
