Classic tale comes to top attraction

CULROSS PALACE will be in the limelight this Christmas when it appears as a location in BBC drama The 39 Steps.

The programme, which stars Rupert Penry Jones of spy series Spooks, will be filmed from Monday until Thursday, when the attraction closes to visitors.

The adaptation of John Buchan’s novel sees Jones’ character embroiled in the murder of a British spy.

Joanne Churchill, senior assistant at Culross Palace, said, “The Culross team are very excited to have the BBC film one of Scotland’s best-loved novels here at the property.

“We warmly welcome the BBC’s choice of Culross to film on location at such an important site of Scottish heritage and to add another chapter to the story of the town.

“It will be a very good opportunity to show viewers the authenticity and well-maintained buildings of Culross and will hopefully attract many more visitors to the site over the coming years.”
