Hogging the limelight

Sandy Boyd with some recent arrivals at his Wormit Hedgehog Care Centre. Mr Boyd said that over the past few weeks the centre has taken in some hoglets that only weigh 107 grams and have 18 in care that are less than 300 grams, plus others that are not up to the 650 grams that they would like them to be at this time of the year. Most of these are likely to be with the centre until the spring, although some may go into outdoor enclosures where they can hibernate in safety. Mr Boyd, who is registered with the British Hedgehog Preservation

Society, has been looking after hedgehogs for more than 10 years.
