FROM WHITE water rafting to quad biking and paint balling, members of the British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association (BLESMA) are coming to Crieff for a week of outdoor activities.
Starting on Wednesday, Crieff Activity Week is one of many annual events organised by BLESMA to assist with rehabilitation as well as building confidence and self esteem.
The week will be attended by service men and women injured in recent conflicts and veterans alike.
Accommodation will be provided by the Ancaster BLESMA Home in Crieff, which offers full residential and nursing services in up to date en-suite accommodation.
The care home is popular among BLESMA members for convalescence, respite and short breaks.
John Francis of BLESMA said, “Our activity weeks are particularly important to our younger members as it gives them the opportunity to see that there is life after amputation.
“All of our pursuits are intended to be challenging as well as fun.”
BLESMA is a national charity specifically for limbless serving and ex-service men and women, their dependants and in particular their widows.
