Ball gown bonanza

THE BRITTLE Bone Society charity shop in Dundee is to hold a Ball Gown Bonanza next weekend.

It is hoped the event will raise the profile of the charity, which is celebrating 40 years of supporting people UK wide who are affected with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI).

The one-day sale came about after the society held its anniversary conference at the end of last month. A trustee from Northern Ireland brought a donation of over 100 ball gowns, wedding dresses and children’s formal dresses.

Monifieth Amateur Dramatics, which has helped out the society before, also donated costumes.

Fund-raising officer Christine Hope said they hope to raise money towards “providing those with OI facilities such as a freephone helpline and specialised equipment such as adapted computers and wheelchairs.”

The sale will be held at 112 City Road from 10am to 4pm on November 1.
