Scheme to educate dogs and owners

DOG OWNERS and their canine companions were put through their paces last night when the Discovery Dog Club held a good citizen scheme evening at the Clepington Church Halls in Isla Street, Dundee.

Organised by the Kennel Club, the scheme aims to produce dogs that will walk and behave in a controlled and responsible manner at all times.

It is the UK’s largest dog-training programme and, since its introduction in 1992, has helped educate almost a quarter of a million dog owners.

There are various stages in the scheme, from Puppy Foundation to the more advanced Gold Award, with around 20 dogs undergoing testing last night.
