Tories promise prospect of UK change

SCOTTISH Conservative leader Annabel Goldie claimed that a vote for her party in Thursday’s Glenrothes by-election would help bring about the change that the UK needs at Westminster during a visit to the town on Saturday.

Ms Goldie, who joined Tory candidate Maurice Golden meeting voters in the Kingdom Shopping Centre, said Britain was “crying out for change” but suggested an SNP vote would be wasted nationally.

“This is a Westminster election to decide who governs the UK,” she said.

“All of Britain is crying out for change and there is only one government in waiting, only one party which can form the next UK government—the Conservatives.

“Gordon Brown’s greatest fear is the resurgence of the Conservative party the length and breadth of Britain.

“Gordon Brown is desperate to cling onto power.

“But he will not lose a moment’s sleep if the SNP win. The SNP cannot form the next UK government.

“Indeed, the SNP candidate made it crystal clear this week that he only cares about breaking up Britain and wants to use the votes he gets for that singular aim.”

Mr Golden said the Prime Minister’s time was now up and urged constituents to back him at the polls.

“Every voter in every part of the country, starting in Glenrothes on November 6, can be part of the real movement for change without risk,” he said. “Your voice can be heard, you can make your vote count and you can send Gordon Brown a message that his time up.

“The clock is ticking—his days are numbered.

“That’s why Scottish Conservatives offer a positive choice for positive change.”
