TRAVEL DUNDEE’S 15/17 service from Whitfield to Ninewells has come under fierce criticism from a local resident and editor of pamphlet The Whitfield Riser.
Jimmy Smith has distributed a letter to residents complaining that he has “never seen such a mess as our new 15/17 service timetable.”
Last month a number of residents contacted The Courier to express concern at changes made by the company.
The 15/17 service now goes in an anti-clockwise loop around Whitfield, with the 17 routed up and down Dura Street while the 15 serves King Street, Princes Street, Albert Street, Asda Milton and Peebles Drive every 20 minutes.
Mr Smith argues that the anti-clockwise route makes it more difficult for people in Whitfield to get home.
A spokesman for the company said, “Travel Dundee has initiated these changes to better serve customers. We have previously stated that there will be a monitoring procedure and a review of the changes will take place.”
Mr Smith argues confusion is amplified by the fact residents have not received information leaflets that should have been sent to their homes.
The spokesman apologised for the delay and said the situation would soon be rectified.
