Hoy helps to pedal Highland Spring

PERTHSHIRE BOTTLED water firm Highland Spring has guaranteed itself exposure by a sponsorship deal with Olympic cycling hero Chris Hoy.

The triple gold-winner will be an ambassador for the Blackford brand and joins stars including tennis brothers Andy and Jamie Murray, former snooker world champion Stephen Hendry and European Tour golfer Alistair Forsyth to endorse it.

Hoy, who drinks six litres of fluid a day while training, said he wants to motivate children to take up a healthier lifestyle.

He said, “I’m proud to be representing Highland Spring. As an athlete, I know to perform at my best I must keep properly hydrated. Equally, it’s important that British kids are encouraged to drink water instead of sugary soft drinks.

“As part of Team Highland Spring I’m really looking forward to helping get the message out that, young or old, we should all be trying to be as active as we can, and cycling is a fun way of doing this and something the whole family can enjoy.”
