A FIFE village was yesterday mourning the loss of a popular teenager who was tragically killed as he made his way home from a night out at the weekend.
Sean Hutchison (19), from Kinghorn, died following a collision with a car on the outskirts of Cowdenbeath on Sunday night.
He had been walking alone on the A909 Cowdenbeath to Beverkae road at around 9.45pm when the accident happened around half a mile south of the junction with the A92 dual carriageway.
The road was closed for several hours after the collision to allow police to carry out accident reconstruction and evidence gathering.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen Sean, who was wearing dark clothing, prior to the accident to contact them on 01592 251111.
An apprentice mechanical engineer with a Cowdenbeath firm, Sean was one of four children and lived with his parents and younger sister in Strathmore Street.
He was a former pupil of Balwearie High School in Kirkcaldy, where he is said to have had many friends. He enjoyed socialising, cars and football and played Sunday League for his local pub team, the Auld Hoose Loyals. A member of staff at the pub yesterday described him as a nice, popular lad who would be missed.
Last night, tributes poured into Sean’s Bebo page, an online social networking site, from shocked friends, with one stating, “Kinghorn won’t be the same without you.”
