Driver hurt as car strikes horse

A DRIVER was cut free from her 4x4 last night following an accident on a Kinross-shire road.

The woman was travelling on the A977 from Kincardine when her vehicle struck a horse that had strayed on to the road. She was then in collision with another vehicle coming in the opposite direction at the Rumbling Bridge turn-off.

Fire and rescue services used cutting equipment to free her, and she was rushed by ambulance to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline after sustaining serious head and arm injuries.
