WITH BURNS night fast approaching, a Perth ice cream parlour has a new approach to the celebrations.
Lickwid in George Street has devised a vegetarian haggis and sweet potato ice cream.
Owner Richard Kelly said, “It’s a bit like Marmite really—you either love it or you hate it. I wasn’t too sure how it would work out.
“A couple of my regular customers couldn’t get their head around haggis being a main course rather than a dessert.”
The ice cream will be available for tasting until Sunday.
Lickwid is also working on a beer-flavoured ice cream for Perth’s Inveralmond Brewery, and created a whisky ice cream by working with the Balvenie Distillery.
Richard and his wife Sandra opened Lickwid in 2007, and produce all the ice cream there.
